Yama Kuni Forge

山國刀匠

Michael Bell Sensei was (and always will be) my Kaji Sensei. He was gracious enough to allow me to apprentice under him, learning the craft of making and mounting Japanese blades. I began my apprenticeship in February of 2005, and after he gave me the art name "Yama Kuni" 山國, I was allowed to go on my own in 2010. In those five years he completely changed my view of the world, and began a love affair with the subtle wabi of traditional Japanese crafts. In my every endeavor, I hope to uphold the foundation given to me by him, and to him from his Sensei Muneyoshi Nakajima Sama.
